Welcome to my miniscule corner of the web where I am showcasing my adventures in bread baking from my home kitchen. Think of mybreadandbrot.com as a window into my home kitchen. To give you some idea of what you would see through that window…. My kitchen is small and neat, equipped with very little specialised equipment and is regularly transformed into a bakery for creation. This is when the oven is on to pre-heat (often for too long), my camera is poised on its tripod, ready to document all the stages, and post-it notes decorate bowls and most of the cupboard fronts. This is where, when I am not working or running around after my 2 kids, I take my latest idea for a bread and create and bake it!
I would be flattered if anyone is interested to know who I am, but feel free to skip down to the important stuff about the bread and recipes below. So my name is Victoria McParland, I am English, I currently live in Germany, I am the proud mother of 2 young boys, I have a full time day job as a research biologist and I am the baker, writer, photographer and owner of mybreadandbrot.com.
My bread baking site
Like most bread bloggers, I have been baking bread for much longer than I have been blogging about it! When I set out to create this blog, in the beginning of 2015, I was determined that not only should my site be fun and informative but also a trusted source of workable recipes for readers to take and bake at home. That means that all my original recipes have been tried and tested and should work out in your kitchen too. My list of published bread recipes may be relatively small but it is growing every week and you can always expect to see something new and interesting on the blog pages of mybreadandbrot.com.
